SnapperNet: 'Q1 ahead of targets'
Mon, 29th Mar 2010
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Director Richard Paul has told The Channel that Q1 financials are ahead of expectations and that the firm is looking to hire new talent.

At the end of last year a change of ownership in the distributor saw Paul take sole directorship of the firm after former co-directors Mark Forbes and John Gould sold their stakes and moved on.

Speaking to The Channel Paul said that the firm is already ahead of financial expectations for 2010. “The first quarter of 2010 is ahead of the same period in 2009 and ahead of our internal targets. We could have stopped a couple of weeks ago. All of our vendors are happy with what we’re doing..

“I did our business plan in December last year and because we did so well in the first quarter, and I know it’s only one quarter, I’m adjusting sales targets because things are looking good.”

SnapperNet is also looking to take on new staff. “We’re going to start looking for some new talent to look after a specific area within our business. It’ll be someone to look after the UTM firewall, security space or someone to look after the voice over IP space. Or someone to manage our level one brand business.”

In a year’s time Paul hopes to have two more people in place. “We’re a small boutique distributor who was adding one person a year for the first five years and we stopped with that magic number of five because we could still increase our revenue and margins. Now though, we’re at that stage where we need to increase.”
