Ridley Scott seeks wannabe YouTube directors
Thu, 8th Jul 2010
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Ridley Scott has made an open call to all budding directors to contribute to his new YouTube project, 'Life in a Day'. Acting as producer, Scott (Aliens, Blade Runner) is teaming up with Kevin Macdonald (Last King of Scotland, Touching the Void) to create 'Life in a Day', a documentary which will chronicle the events of a single day on earth, July 24, 2010, using footage shot by YouTubers from around the world on that day. The project is being hailed as YouTube’s "first user-generated feature-length documentary". To get involved, simply shoot something on July 24 and upload it to www.youtube.com/lifeinaday

The film will premier at the Sundance Film Festival in 2011 and all users whose content is included in the finished feature will be credited as co-directors. Twenty lucky directors will be flown to Sundance for the premier.
