Tue, 11th Oct 2011
FYI, this story is more than a year old

The death of iconic Apple founder Steve Jobs last week was caused by respiratory arrest and a pancreatic tumour, according to his death certificate.

The document, released by the Santa Clara County Public Health Department and reported by Bloomberg, says Jobs died on October 5 at 3pm (11am on October 6 NZ time). The news broke less than two hours later.

A private funeral was held for Jobs on Friday, and new CEO Tim Cook has told Apple employees the company will hold a celebration of Jobs’ life at Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino on October 19.
