FYI, this story is more than a year old

Dell has appointed Simms International as its distribution partner for SMB partners and customers in an effort to play into its global strategy and increase its investment in New Zealand.

Simms International was launched in New Zealand in mid-January and will now stock the complete Vostro range of products in addition to a range of servers and peripherals, such as projectors and laser printers. The company will also have access to Dell storage and networking products.

Dell Country Manager for New Zealand Mike Hill said, “The move complements our PartnerDirect programme and further highlights our desire to put Dell representatives closer to New Zealand customers.”

He added: “Dell has more staff in New Zealand than ever before and we will continue to invest in New Zealand and to meet the ever-changing needs of our customers.”

Dell SMB Channel Director for ANZ Jay Turner said the new distributor will be a more convenient way for partners and customers to access Dell products and services.

“While giving customers another option, the introduction of a distributor establishes a partnership that strengthens Dell’s solutions offerings and improves speed and reach across the country,” he said.
