The former Chillisoft Security Consultant has stepped out on his own with a new value added distribution outfit.

Steve Rielly left Chillisoft a few months ago and has been working on securing clients for his new company, Katana Technologies ever since. Rielly will be the premier New Zealand partner for Palo Alto Networks.

He says that Katana Technologies will offer client and server software for hardware-based digital security, enabling organisations to know who is connecting to their critical IT infrastructure, protect corporate data and strengthen the boundaries of their networks.

Palo Alto Networks and Bluecat Networks are named as the company’s first major clients.

"Katana Technologies has been formed to be a leading provider of solutions that will give organisations unprecedented visibility and control of their infrastructure and intellectual property,” said Rielly. "Raising the bar for advanced IT security solutions, the portfolio from Katana Technologies contains only solutions that are best in their class, and visionaries in their field of expertise."

David Thrum, Director of Sales for Australia and New Zealand at Palo Alto Network, said, "We are happy that Katana Technologies has joined Palo Alto Networks' NextWave partner program. Steve Rielly is a recognised visionary in the network security industry and his experience will help us expand the success of our Next-Generation Firewall technology in New Zealand."
