FYI, this story is more than a year old

As a new week starts the rumours continue to swirl. Here are The Channel’s most recent:

HP

Oliver Hill has finished his sojourn into the world of managed printing solutions at Brother and is returning to the HP mothership in a new role for the Imaging and Printing Group. Any conspiracy theories or 007 references should be avoided.

Toshiba

After stubborn and repeated rumours to the contrary, Country Manager, Gary Wicks confirmed today to The Channel, that Toshiba is definitely not appointing a second distributor locally. Ingram Micro is and will continue to be New Zealand’s exclusive distributor for high profile laptop manufacturer.

Renaissance

Company stalwart Janet Bailey is leaving Renaissance. Bailey was most well known for her role as Channel Manager for the Apple dealers; Janet has been in more of a customer service focused role as of late, as the company’s Sales Support Manager. Her last day is officially July 21st and she doesn’t have a new role lined up at this stage. Industry players looking for an excellent sales management operator should snap Janet up before your competitors do.

Although the company won’t confirm it, The Channel understands that recently appointed Chief Marketing Officer, Natalie Brown has also tendered her resignation. When asked Natalie preferred not to comment.

After our article last week whipped up a storm of emails regarding Renaissance, most of which defended the company, we uncovered more positive news from the conglomerate. The company’s MagnumMac division is ready to announce a major refitting of its flagship Newmarket store this time with a Cafe at its heart. For the time being this store is the closest we Kiwis will get to an AppleStore in the land Down Under. This comes on top of the announcement of five new brands the company will distribute, click here for the full story.
