FYI, this story is more than a year old

Philipp Heltewig, Managing Director for Sitecore Australia and New Zealand, has told The Channel of the firm's aggressive expansion plans in New Zealand.

Earlier today the .NET Web CMS provider announced it had opened a New Zealand sales office that would solidify its presence in the local content management systems market. Speaking to The Channel Heltewig said that the time was right now to move into NZ after it saw sales picking up and a requests coming in for training and partner support.

“Part of our strategy is to work through the partner channel. If we just appoint a partner and don’t properly support that partner then that relationship is doomed to fail. Here in Australia we’re in contact with out partners on a daily basis,” he said.

Currently the firm has Dan Buckley in Wellington, who came from Optimation. “We’re currently in the process of interviewing for local technical resources as well,” Heltewig added.

The firm aims to have two full time people based in the New Zealand office, which will be able to draw on marketing and administrative resources from Australia. Sales and technical support will be local though and there’s also talk of a further sales position being created if expansion goes to plan.

“We currently have two partners in New Zealand, Datacom and Fuse Information Technologies and we’re looking at getting at least 11 new partners within the next 12 months,” Heltewig said.
